Air-Espace now offers the
possibility to train for the ATPL, CPL, IR and
PPL Theoretical exams via an internet "Distance Learning" course,
developed by a partnering FTO. It is now possible
to go through 3/4 of the training from your Personnal
Computer at home, with a complete set of Oxford/Jeppesen set
of materials, following a specialy designed syllabus.
The student gradually progresses through all
required subject areas. The study in each 8 hour
module is validated by an on-line multiple choice
test, required to be completed before moving
on to the next subject. The normal pace of study
for the ATPL or the IR is approximately 16 hrs
of weekly study, allowing the completion of the
course in 10 to 12 months for the ATPL and 4
to 6 months for the IR. Personnal study is complemented
by a "Presence Learning session" of
3 weeks of classroom work with dedicated Air-Espace
Instructors (ATPL) and
10 days for IR, in order to answer students'
questions and to verify their preparedness for
the written exams.
ADSL is not required for the course as the "on-line
connection time" is short and not required
for the core of the study time. This approach
combines the flexibility and ease of internet
access, whatever your location. Numerous tools
are available, including a database of multiple
choice questions exceeding 12'000 questions in
English. Starting the course can be done anytime,
requiring only a brief introduction to the application,
called a "kick-off meeting". These
are scheduled every months. Please
consult the Air-Espace Calendar on this site
for these dates, for the "presence Learning" sessions
and for the FOCA exam sessions. The holders of ICAO
ATP (inlcuding those with only the Theoretical
Knowledge ATP exam) are exempted form the "Presence
Learning" seminar.
